The Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) is a committee of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) tasked with the deliberation and examination of the state of international copyright. The SCCR is in the process of negotiating international instruments to address issues such as the access to copyrighted materials for the visually impaired and print disabled (this negotiation was recently completed), the protection of broadcasting organizations, and, in the coming months, exceptions to copyright protection for libraries and archives. These deliberations are far-reaching and have a significant impact on the way that information can be accessed across the world.
